Chelmsford Referees’ Society was formed in 1947 and now has one of the largest memberships within Essex, currently at around 100 members. We are constantly looking at ways of recruiting new members as well as retaining our existing ones.

The role of a modern-day football Referee is a demanding one. At the top level, we are continually under the spotlight, and this ultimately has an impact at grassroots level.

As an active Referee you need to be aware of Law changes, directives from the Football Association and Essex County Football Association as well as updated information on local Leagues.
Our Society is blessed with colleagues who possess a huge breadth of experience who are readily on-hand to guide and advise fellow members on matters which crop up on a regular basis.
